Wholesale Bar Stools: Seat Height Comes First

Wholesale Bar Stools

Most bar stool listings lead with the number that sounds best—total height. A tall figure suggests a tall stool, and a tall stool suggests a proper bar chair. But total height is the wrong number to buy by. Seat height is what decides whether a customer can actually sit comfortably. It’s also the one many listings leave out.

The stool we’re looking at

Take the Bar Stool Leather Seat, SKU BC-029, from the Bar Stool category at Wedding Events. The spec table gives its size as 45 × 45 × 90 cm. It weighs 8 to 10 kg. The materials are acrylic, stainless steel and PU leather, and the color is listed as clear. Delivery takes 35 to 45 days. It has no reviews yet, so there’s no buyer feedback to lean on. That’s worth knowing before you order.

So what do those numbers tell you? Less than you’d hope.

What 90 cm really means

A 90 cm total height almost certainly includes the backrest. It’s the height from the floor to the top of the stool, not the height of the seat. Bar stools come in two common seat heights. Counter stools are shorter, and bar stools are taller. If your customers pair the stool with a standard bar counter, a counter-height table or a cocktail table, a few centimeters of difference matter a lot. Too low, and guests’ knees clash with the tabletop. Too high, and they can’t tuck in.

Ask the factory for the seat height in writing. Better yet, ask for the footrest height too, because a footrest in the wrong place makes a stool uncomfortable even when the seat is right.

Then compare that figure with the tables you sell. A stool is only useful next to the right surface.

Reading the materials

Acrylic, stainless steel and PU leather are a common mix for event stools. Each part behaves differently.

  • Acrylic gives the see-through look. It also scratches, and it shows fingerprints. Ask what thickness the backrest is and how the edges are finished.
  • Stainless steel carries the weight. Ask about the wall thickness of the tubing and where the joints are welded.
  • PU leather is easy to wipe. It can crack at the seams over time, so ask what’s under it and how the cover is attached.

One more detail. The product tags mention acrylic and LED bar stools, but the spec table doesn’t list a light. If your market wants LED, ask whether this model can have one, and what the power setup looks like. Don’t assume.

Weight and stability

8 to 10 kg is solid for a stool of this size. It won’t tip as easily as a light plastic one, and it’s still manageable for a staff member carrying four. But weight tells you nothing about the base. Ask about the footprint. A tall stool on a narrow base wobbles. A wide, stable base feels safer to guests who climb onto it with a drink in their hand.

What to ask before you order

  • What’s the seat height, and the footrest height?
  • What’s the rated load, and how was it tested?
  • How thick is the acrylic, and how are its edges finished?
  • Is the seat cover glued, stapled or stitched?
  • Can the metal color and size be customized? The page says yes.
  • Does an LED version exist?

Where each stool earns its place

Think about the jobs a stool does at an event. At a wedding bar, guests perch for ten minutes and leave. At a lounge, they sit for an hour. In a restaurant or club, a stool might be used every night for years. A clear acrylic stool with a leather seat suits the first two well. It looks light in a room full of heavy furniture, and it doesn’t compete with a decorated bar. For constant commercial use, ask the factory how the seat and joints hold up over time, and whether a heavier-duty frame is available.

Your customers will also ask about cleaning. Acrylics wipe down with a soft cloth, but harsh cleaners can cloud it. Ask for the factory’s care advice and pass it on in your own listing.

Samples and trial orders

The factory says it approves a pre-production sample before mass production starts. It also accepts trial orders of about five sets per item, with three to five items mixed in one container. For stools, order the sample, set it beside the actual bar or cocktail table your customers use, and sit on it for a few minutes. The feel of a stool is the one thing you can’t read from a spec sheet.

Ask for photos before shipment, too. The factory offers inspection before loading or sends photos on request. Look closely at the acrylic edges, the seat seams and the weld points.

A note on range

The Bar Stool category has many models, from simple cross-back stools to rounded-back, velvet-cushion and metal-frame designs. If this is your first order, don’t buy one style in depth. Pick two or three that suit different counters, and see which sells first.
